Dilka-Kumara Wedding

We very rarely accept the wedding photography, unless there is anything such as special connection with the client, Significance or anything unique. Dilka is the younger sister of my very close friend, so we decided to cover this wedding. She is very young and has a good skin tone. As a photographer I didn’t have to put extra attention to make her more glamorous. Once Nishee(her saloon is at Homagama) gave her a basic bridal make up, She walked away from the saloon as complete kandian Bride.

We have used two basic lens for these shots.

  • 18-55mm Kit lens
  •  70-300mm macro lens

Studio79 wishes you very happy wedded life…!!!!

Shoot with Chami

Chami Dilrukshi is an upcoming SL female model who is involved with many TV visuals as well as local magazine photoshoots. I came to know this girl a couple of months back through my friend (meesha gunawardhana @ THRIMANA photography), and I added her to my facebook profile. After couple of initial discussions, we planned a non-commercial photoshoot and we decided to do it in my studio and at an o
old garage. There was no makeup artist involved with this shoot, but fortunately Chami had fair knowledge of basic makeup. So she managed that by herself.
I have used selective color theme on these pictures (It gives some prominence to foreground object, specially when you don’t have the support from you equipments such as lenses), and I used Canon rebel xt along with 18-55mm f4 lens. I used Indian pro-lights kit with snoot for indoor shooting while I used Canon 580 ex II as the external lighting source.

All of these pix have been retouched with the purpose of publishing on this blog, so I still see some mistakes in the edges.

Shoot with Kaushalya

Kaushalya Udayangani is a well known member of one of the popular local dancing group. I had a chance to talk to her over FB and she asked for a portfolio shoot. She was not new to photo shoots at all. During the last few months, her photos were published in a couple of local newspaper -supplement covers, Few months back, we planned the shoot and we decided to do it in few locations including my stu
my studio, Katunayka-Mathara highway and some local quarry (Gal-Wala).
Make-up was done in a nearby salon. The shoot started around 10am during a weekend, it consumed almost 4 hours. I used Canon 350D with 18-55mm lens, 580 ex II, Yashika small speed light and reflector as external lighting sources ,lambacy blue cup for background lighting and wind machines to get blowing hair effect.
